Elizabeth has said ‘I am thrilled to be taking Carers Resource forward and to being part of an excellent and dedicated team which is making a real difference to the lives of those who give of themselves in an unpaid caring role. Carers are eligible to enjoy free library deliveries

The Home Library and Information Service provides free home delivery of books and audio books to people who find it difficult to get to their local library and information centre. We work with local volunteers who visit people once a fortnight.

You may be eligible to receive the free home delivery service if you are a carer, or because of ill health, disability or age, you are unable get to the library and information centre yourself, or cannot carry books.

We are always pleased to hear from people who are interested in volunteering to help deliver the service. We are looking for caring people who can offer a regular commitment of, at most, 2 hours a fortnight.

Information about the service is also available in large print, Braille, on audio cassette and in other languages.

For details visit the website www.northyorks.gov.uk/libraries
