Young Adult Carers (18 - 35) is seeking volunteers to play an active role in this exciting new project. We have vacancies for a Communications Volunteer and an Activities Volunteer. Information packs with job description and application form are available for download on our Working for Us page. [Go to page here].
With BIG Lottery funding we are really excited to be setting up a project to support Young Adult Carers aged 18-35 years. There has been a buzz of excitment in the Carers Resource office since the arrival of two new members of staff, Jodie Peckitt (Support & Information Officer) and Neil Daniel (Activities & Volunteer Co-ordinator).
Our aim is to actively engage Young Adult Carers in the Scarborough, Whitby and Ryedale area. We are looking to focus on providing support and advice to this particular group as well as offering social activities and volunteer opportunties.
We intend to raise awareness of Young Adult Carers and will work with a range of organisations and agencies in the local area to raise the profile of the project, as well as supporting professionals to identify carers.
Gina Culling will provide specialist advice and support around education, training and employment opportunties as part of this project. We will be running social events which could include pub quizzes, days out, meeting up for a cuppa and a chat; but a word of warning - the first person who suggests bungee jumping... well you have been warned!
We are recruiting volunteers to assist with social activities. The volunteer job descriptions can be found on our website. Please get in touch if you are interested in being part of our volunteer team.
